Girl Scouts host donor appreciation event
The Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council recently hosted its annual donor appreciation event, called Just Desserts at the River Oaks Country Club.
According to a Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council press release, "More than 100 guests enjoyed the pallet-pleasing event as celebrity chefs vied for the title of Most Creative Recipe, Best Use of Cookie, Best Table Display, Celebrity Judges Favorite, Most Delicious, Most Camp Friendly, Best Theme Interpretation and People's Choice Award. This year's participants included chefs from Edible Designs by Jessie, Dolce Delights, Michael's Cookie Jar, Dessert Gallery, The Dessert Boutique, Haven, Ooh La La: The Dessert Boutique and Phoenicia Specialty Foods."
The River Oaks Country Club is at 1600 River Oaks Blvd., Houston.
The Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council was founded by Mrs. F.M. Law and Miss Corinne Fonde in 1922 in Houston. It serves 26 counties in Southeast Texas, including Angelina, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Hardin, Harris, Houston, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Nacogdoches, Newton, Orange, Polk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby, Trinity, Tyler, Walker, Waller and Wharton. The council is governed by a board of directors made up of community leaders. Stacy Methvin is the chairperson of the board and president of the council. Mary Vitek is the chief executive officer.
