19 Bellaire runners complete Rhythm and Blues Half Marathon
Nineteen Bellaire athletes completed the Rhythm and Blues Half Marathon on Sunday, Feb. 10 in Houston.
The runners from Bellaire and their finishing times were Sarah Bolka, 34, 1:52:34; Behzad Afshar, 35, 1:55:10; Carol Orsak, 48, 1:55:22; John Faust, 56, 2:09:36; Jorge Lopez, 51, 2:09:41; Erik Konicki, 43, 2:12:41; Jose Endara, 37, 2:13:05; Spencer Wheat, 41, 2:13:05; Eugene Frogozo, 31, 2:15:41; Peggy Faulk, 56, 2:15:47; Austin Cooney, 52, 2:20:09; Margarita Moreno, 42, 2:22:04; Janice Character, 54, 2:26:37; Ellie Bane, 37, 2:37:37; Scott Reed, 69, 2:42:04; Kate Prather, 36, 2:51:09; Vicki Brentin, 59, 2:55:41; Rebecca Orsak, 17, 3:00:51; and John Brentin, 59, 3:28:06.
Race organizers said 1,066 runners finished the 13.1-mile race, which began and ended at Sam Houston Park.
Benjamin Zywicki, of The Woodlands, was the men's overall winner with a finishing time of 1:11:54, while Catherine Kruppa, of Houston, was the winner in the women's category with a time of 1:32:19.
