Lacrosse star ready to lead young team
A: Probably Taylor Thornton, who plays at Northwestern. She grew up in Dallas, so she’s another one of those kind of nontraditional players, and she’s actually one of the best collegiate players right now.
Q: Who inspires you the most?
A: Probably my coach, actually. He’s almost like a third dad. He’s awesome and motivational, and he pushes me hard.
Q: What are your goals for this season?
A: We just moved up to Division I, so hopefully we’re going to get to the state championships like we did last year in Division II. For myself, I want to be the best leader I can for the team because we have a bunch of young players.
Q: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
A: In the car on the way to the games, we play this one song really loud. It’s the last song right before we pull into the parking lot.
