Bellaire City Library to host screening of 'The Women' on Jan. 16
The Bellaire City Library will offer a showing of the film "The Women" on Wednesday, Jan. 16.
According to an announcement from the library, "The Bellaire City Library will be showing 'The Women' for its January Classic Movie matinee. This 1939 comedy-drama stars Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford and Rosalind Russell. The amazing all-female supporting cast includes Paulette Goddard, Joan Fontaine, Marjorie Main and Hedda Hopper. Based on an original play by Clare Booth Luce, 'The Women' follows the adventures of a group of Manhattan socialites falling in and out of serial marriages and divorces. From the gossip of the city beauty salon to the closeness of a Reno dude ranch, this movie provides charm and wit, along with a break from modern busy life."The film will be screened from 1-3:15 p.m. at 5111 Jessamine St.
The event is free. Registration is not required.
