Bellaire grad McGilbra plays in Texas State loss to San Jose State
Taylor McGilbra, a graduate of Bellaire High School, is a junior guard for the Texas State University women's basketball team.
Bellaire High School graduate Taylor McGilbra contributed two points for Texas State in a 98-96 loss against conference rival San Jose State on Saturday, Dec. 29 at the Spartan Event Center in San Jose, Calif., Texas State's website reported.
The junior also recorded four rebounds, nine assists and a steal for the Bobcats, who are 6-5 on the season and 0-1 in the WAC.
Texas State's next game is at 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31 against Utah State.
McGilbra, a 5-foot-8 junior for Texas State University, is a 2009 graduate of Bellaire High School. She was named the MVP at the District 20-5A Tournament and also earned All-Greater Houston honors from the Houston Chronicle during high school. She played a year at Boise State University, where she played 30 games as a freshman before transferring. The Houston native is the daughter of Don and Monique McGilbra and is a sociology major.
