University of Houston to change shuttle services
The University of Houston has chosen a new shuttle service provider and revamped shuttle routes for the upcoming spring semester.
According to a press release issued Monday, Dec. 17 "Groome Transportation, a Richmond, Va.-based company, will be the new operator of the Cougar Line. Starting Jan. 2, three shuttle routes will service students on the UH campus: the Outer Loop, Eastwood/ERP and Campus Loop routes."
The Campus Loop and Eastwood/ERP Line will remain the same, while the Outer Loop route combines the current purple and blue shuttle routes. The changes cut the the university's annual shuttle costs from $2.4 million to an average of $1.4 million. The savings will be used for parking lot maintenance and other parking projects.
University of Houston is at 4800 Calhoun Road, Houston.
