Bellaire grad leads University of Texas at Austin to victory
Bellaire High School graduate Sheldon McClellan led the University of Texas at Austin to a 69-55 victory over Mississippi State on Tuesday, Nov. 20 in college basketball action.
According to University of Texas at Austin's website, McClellan, a sophomore guard at the University of Texas at Austin, recorded 19 points and 5 rebounds. With the victory, the team improved to 3-2 on the season.
The game was played at Lahaina Civic Center in Maui, Hawaii.
The University of Texas at Austin's next game is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27 at home against Sam Houston State.
McClellan is a 2011 graduate of Bellaire High School, where he was ranked as the No. 47 prospect nationally in the ESPNU 100. He was also ranked as the No. 60 prospect by Rivals.com following his senior season. He had a per-game average in his senior year of 25 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals. McClellan is from Houston and is the son of Angel Johnson.
