Latino Peace Officers Association to hold charity softball tournament
The Southeast Harris County Chapter of the Latino Peace Officers Association will hold the 17th Annual Scholarship Softball Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 8.
The tournament will be played in a double-elimination format and is not strictly limited to law enforcement players. Players can form men's, women's or co-ed teams.
The tournament championship gets a team plaque, 12 T-shirts, two all-tournament plaques and two MVP plaques. Second place gets a team plaque, 12 T-shirts and two all-tournament plaques. Third place gets a team plaque, 12 T-shirts and one all-tournament plaque.
The entry fee is $135, plus umpire fees to be paid at the plate. Softballs must be bought at the park.
The SHCC Tournament will be held at the Houston Sportsplex, 12631 South Main St.
The deadline for registration is Thursday, Sept. 6.
