Trailblazer Gala to be held Sept. 20

The 15th annual American Advertising Federation-Houston Trailblazer Award and Gala honoring business leaders will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20. at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

The Trailblazer Award is presented to business leaders who have used effective marketing and advertising to build their brand and promote Houston. This year, the award will be given to Martha Turner Properties President and CEO Martha F. Turner.

A selection committee comprised of all previous Trailblazer recipients and the chairman, president, president's council chair or representative, current Trailblazer gala chair and three at-large AAF-H select the winner of the award.

According to its website, Martha Turner Properties produced $1.3 billion in closed sale transactions in 2011, the best in the company's history.

Proceeds from the black-tie event will benefit AAF-Houston and its scholarship and educational programs.
