West University rec center offers sports program for beginners

West University Place Recreation Center will begin registration for “Beginning Sports” on Tuesday, Aug. 7.

The program, for children ages 3.5-5, will teach students introductory basketball, soccer and T-ball skills.

Classes will run in two sessions, each meeting from 4-4:45 p.m. each Wednesday in Multipurpose Room 5. The first session will be from Sept. 5 through Oct. 10; the second will take place Oct. 24 through Dec. 12. No classes will be held on Oct. 31 or Nov. 21.

The cost is $70 for residents and $80 for non-residents.

Resident registration begins Tuesday, Aug. 7; non-resident registration begins Thursday, Aug. 9. To register, visit www.westu.org.
