West University Little League All-Stars win tourney
The West University Juniors All-Star team took home the section three Little League championship with an 18-5 run-rule victory over Pearland and advanced to the state tournament in Tyler.
The West University Juniors team, composed of 12 players and three coaches, now aims for a title with a week to rest.
In other news, after a successful district campaign, the 11-year-old Americans, composed of 11 boys and three coaches, fell to NASA East 5-4.
The Seniors, meanwhile, took to the field on Friday, July 20, at 6 p.m. against Pearland and needed a pair of wins to join the Juniors in the state tourney.
