Houston Public Library holds Adult Summer Reading Club

Adults are invited to pick up some good books and join the Houston Public Library's Adult Summer Reading Club.

Library patrons 18 years old and older can sign up through Aug. 1 for the program. Each month a number of prizes will be awarded, including a drawing for a Kindle Fire ereader. Program participants may read books in any format and enter the book title in their online reading log. Several book clubs at the library are also offered to give patrons suggestions on which books to read and help them make new friends.

An HPL Power Card is required to check out books or ebooks and is available at any library location for free. Customers must apply in person and provide a valid photo ID with their current address. For more details on the HPL Power Card, visit houstonlibrary.org/powercard.

The Houston Public Library operates 35 neighborhood libraries, three HPL Express Libraries, a Central Library, the Houston Metropolitan Research Center, the Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research, the African American Library at the Gregory School and the Parent Resource Library located in the Children's Museum of Houston.
