MFAH 'American Made' exhibit begins July 7
The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston will for the first time in history present a comprehensive display of its collections of American art.
According to a press release, this collection includes paintings, sculpture, photography, watercolors, prints, furniture, ceramics, metals, textiles and costumes.
The artwork is drawn from collections at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, Rienzi and the MFAH. “American Made: 250 Years of American Art” features artworks associated geographically with the British and Spanish North American colonies; the United States, including Native Americans; and Mexico, the press release stated.
The exhibit begins Saturday, July 7 at the museum, located at 1001 Bissonnet St.
