Rice video series continues celebrating centennial
Rice University is continuing its centennial video series with a film that explores the history of Rice’s first gardener, Tony Martino.
Rice University has been producing the weekly videos to explore the school’s history. They will run through Oct. 12.
The latest centennial video explores the labor of Tony Martino, an Italian immigrant who planted several of the first flowers and large trees on Rice’s campus. Martino also designed the university’s perimeter hedge. The video was created by Rice Centennial Historian Melissa Kean and video producer Brandon Martin.
