Easter Seals to hold weeklong camp
Easter Seals Greater Houston’s Camp Smiles, a weeklong overnight camp for children with cerebral palsy or similar neurological disorders, will be held July 1-6.
Campers participate in activities such as swimming, horseback riding, canoeing, arts and crafts and a ropes course.
The campsite is specially equipped for children with disabilities and each camper gets his or her own partner who participates in all activities with them and assists with daily needs.
During closing ceremonies each camper receives a special award that is unique and personalized for individual achievements. They also perform cabin skits, sing camp songs and dance.
Camp Smiles will be at Camp for All, 6301 Rehburg Road, Burton. For more information about the camp, visit eastersealshouston.org/Children/camps.
