Nature Discovery Center to hold Park After Dark walks
Nature Discovery Center invites the public to learn about the animals that are out and about in Russ Pitman Park when sun goes down.
Several nighttime programs are scheduled this summer for families, hosted by the Nature Discovery Center.
Nature-lovers are invited to come learn about the animals in Russ Pitman Park after dark. The programs are hosted by the Nature Discovery Center as part of the Park After Dark night hikes. Programs are designed for adults and children ages 4 and older.
Included in the program are an introduction to the animals likely to be seen and the best ways to find them, followed by a guided exploration through the park. The center's Park After Dark walks begin at 8 p.m. Upcoming programs are Nighttime Nature Walk on July 20 and Night Sounds on Aug. 24.
Attendees should bring mosquito repellant and a flashlight. Cost is $5 per person. Reservations can be made at naturediscoverycenter.org/night-hike.
The Nature Discovery Center is located at 7112 Newcastle St., Bellaire. For more information, call 713-667-6550 or visit www.naturediscoverycenter.org.
