Memorial Hermann announces new sleep center
With new technology and an expert team of a physician and registered technologists, TIRR Memorial Hermann is proud to announce the Neurological Sleep Medicine Center.
The new Neurological Sleep Medicine Center at TIRR Memorial Hermann, located at 1333 Mourund St. in Houston, in now open.
According to a press release, the center's all-inclusive approach focuses on researching and treating sleep disorders as well as related neurological issues that can affect sleep.
"While many of the Sleep Center’s patients are rehabilitating from neurological conditions, others have conditions caused by sleep disorders,” UTHealth Dr. James Grotta, chief of neurology at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, said in the release. “In many cases chronic headaches, depression and some dementias are caused by lack of sleep, which is why our comprehensive approach to a patient with difficulty sleeping encompasses all aspects of his or her condition.”
The Sleep Medicine Center features five queen-sized Tempur-Pedic beds in its sleep suites and is operated by a board-certified neurologist/sleep specialist and certified polysomnographic technologists.
