Asia Society Texas Center to present 'New Arrivals'
The chamber opera "New Arrivals" will play at 7:30 p.m. June 22 and 2 p.m. June 23 at the Asia Society Texas Center, located at 1370 Southmore Blvd. in Houston.
According to a press release, the opera, set in Houston, tells the story of Cambodian refugee Yani Rose Keo, who meets several other refugees on her way to America and eventually commits to helping them as well as herself to establish themselves in the new country.
John Glover wrote the music for the opera, and the libretto is by Catherine Filloux.
