American Red Cross to offer swim lessons
The American Red Cross of Bellaire is offering summer swim lessons at the Bellaire Parks and Recreation Department's Evergreen and Elaine Wood Therapy pools.
Classes begin at the Tadpoles/Starfish level, which is for preschoolers, and then progress through the following six levels: Introduction to Water Skills, Fundamental Aquatic Skills, Stroke Development, Stroke Improvement, Stroke Refinement and Swimming and Skills Proficiency.
Sessions are Monday through Thursday with makeup classes on Friday. The cost per session is $65. Four sessions will take place at the Evergreen Pool according to the following schedule: session one, Monday, June 4-14; session two, June 18-28; session three, July 9-19; session four, July 30 to Aug. 9.
Another group of lessons, to take place at the E.W. Therapy Pool, will begin Monday, June 11. The cost for these lessons is also $65. The two-session schedule is as follows: session one, June 11-21; session two, June 25-28. Classes are Monday through Thursday with makeup classes on Friday.
Both pools are located at 4500 Evergreen St. in Bellaire.
