Direct Energy has dozens of positions to fill at job fair
Employment opportunities for nearly 200 new jobs will be offered at the Direct Energy Job Fair, scheduled for 5-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18.
The fair will take place in the Renaissance Hotel Ballroom at 6 Greenway Plaza E. in Houston.
The new opportunities arrive in the wake of the energy service company's decision to move its head office from Toronto, Canada, to 12 Greenway Plaza. Direct Energy's Residential and Upstream & Trading businesses, based in Houston for more than 10 years, currently employ more than 500 employees.
“Direct Energy is a perfect fit in Houston because we are the nation’s energy hub, but more important are the new jobs being created here,” said Houston Mayor Annise Parker in a press release.
According to Badar Khan, Houston-Based president of Direct Energy Upstream, “It's an exciting time to join Direct Energy.” As part of the company's 2012 growth strategy, Direct Energy has entered more than 20 new markets in the past 12 months. “The relocation of our corporate head office to Houston will allow us to focus our attention on the growth opportunities for our business across North America, where competitive energy markets are thriving, particularly in Texas,” said Khan in the press release.
Potential candidates will have the opportunity to apply for positions across a wide array of specialties. Available areas of placement include finance, administration, information systems, human resources, legal, procurement, internal communications, analytics and project management.
