Police investigate man's death on Claridge
Police continue to investigate after a Houston man was killed during a fight at a Claridge group home.
Police with the Houston Police Department Homicide Division say they found Sterling Shepherd, 44, dead after they responded to a complaint of a sexual assault in progress at 4:25 a.m. April 5 at the group home, 6114 Claridge.
An investigation revealed that before police arrived, the sexually assaulted woman's husband, in an attempt to stop Shepherd from hurting his wife, placed Shepherd in a choke hold, according to the release.
Shepherd was pronounced dead at the scene. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will determine the exact cause of death.
