Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center celebrates Dance Month
Events are still going on through Sunday, Feb. 12 to celebrate Dance Month at the Kaplan Theater.
From 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, the Gallim Dance company will teach a master class. The troupe was founded by choreographer Andrea Miller, whose work includes time spent with Israel's Batsheva Dance Company. The class costs $3.50 in advance and $5 at the door.
Gallim Dance will then perform a concert at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the community center. The performance will include a mix repertory of Mama Call and Pupil Suite. The performance costs $16 for Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center members, $22 for non-members and $12 for seniors and students.
Finally, at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, the center will host "Motion Captured: An Evening of Dance on Film," which will focus on both local and nationally recognized choreographers and filmmakers. Tickets are $5 for members and $7 for non-members.
