Bellaire Food Town blamed for broken pelvis
Food Town is being sued over claims its failure to provide customers with a safe shopping environment in Bellaire caused a pregnant woman to break her pelvis.
Lucha Villarreal filed a lawsuit on Dec. 15 in Harris County District Court against Lewis Food Town, doing business as Food Town #18, citing negligence.
Villarreal says on Nov. 5, she broke her pelvis while shopping at Food Town, located at 9725 Fondren in Bellaire. According to the brief, her pelvis broke when she slipped and fell in a substance that had been spilled on the floor.
She was 8 months pregnant at the time of the incident.
Villarreal is seeking damages and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Linda Laurent Thomas.
