Bellaire HS grad Ariana Chinn helps Eckerd knock off No. 1 Tampa
Bellaire high school graduate Ariana Chinn was a key player, as the No. 1 ranked University of Tampa volleyball team was defeated by Eckerd College in a five-set thriller. The Spartans fall to 24-1 on the season with an 11-1 Sunshine State Conference mark while the Tritons improve to 20-3 in their 2011 campaign with a 9-2 conference tally.
Ariana Chinn had 22 assists and nine kills in the win over the number one team in the nation.
The senior psychology major is the daughter of Brent and Jolinda Chinn.
Chinn was named second team all-district in 2005 and first team all-district in 2006 and 2007 at Bellaire High School. She was the HISD All-Tournament MVP and Player of the Year in 2007. Chinn is the current all-time kills leader at BHS.
