Bellaire company sued over electric bill

Startex Power, a retail electricity provider, is suing after, it says, a Bellaire company failed to pay over $100,000 for electricity used.

Startex Power filed a lawsuit on June 15 in Harris County District Court against Bellaire’s 4300 Apartments LLC and others, citing breach of contract.

Startex Power says that on March 31, 2009, it entered into a 36-month contract to provide the defendants electricity for their business, located in Bellaire. According to the brief, the defendants breached this agreement by refusing to pay for electricity as required under the contract.

The suit alleges that the defendants owe $104,932.46 in unpaid utility services.

Startex is seeking damages, attorney’s fees and court costs. It is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Rodney Drinnon.
