Bellaire church sued over alleged comments
A church in Bellaire is being sued by a former employee for alleged defamatory comments.
John Dubec filed a lawsuit on Feb. 17 in the Harris County District Court against Linda Weise and Christ Church Presbyterian in Bellaire, alleging defamation.
Dubec says that in 2010, while employed by Christ Church, located at 5001 Bellaire Blvd., Weise and others published a series of defamatory comments about him. According to the brief, these comments, imputing Dubec of criminal conduct, were slanderous.
Dubec is seeking damages in the amount of $1 million and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Sugar Land attorney C. Michael Black.
