Alexis Bledel to co-star in new film
Houston native Alexis Bledel will co-star in the new film Violet and Daisy.
The film centers on a pair of teenage assassins who take on a seemingly quick and easy job, only to find the man they are supposed to kill is not who they expected.
Geoffrey Fletcher, who won last year's Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for Precious, will make his directorial debut on the picture. The film also will star James Gandolfini ("The Sopranos"), Saoirse Ronan (Atonement) and Carey Mulligan (An Education).
Bledel began modeling after being spotted by a fashion scout at a suburban mall. She had a starring role on the hit television show "Gilmore Girls."
She was raised in Westbury, where her parents Martin and Nanette still own a home. She attended St. Agnes Academy in Sharpstown, where her mother works as a gift processor.
