Pro Baseball: Andrew Walker, Bradenton Marauders

Andrew Walker went 1 for 2 and was walked twice in the Bradenton Marauders's 0-0 loss at the Brevard County Manatees on Thursday. Walker graduated from Bellaire High School.

Walker is a 2004 graduate of Bellaire High School and played three seasons of college baseball (2005 to 2007) at Texas Christian University before signing professionally on June 26, 2007 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, who selected him in the 5th round (158th overall) of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft. At TCU, Walker batted .310 as a freshman, 2005, with 11 homers and 35 RBIs to earned second-team freshman all-America honors at catcher. He was a Mountain West Conference all-star at catcher during his sophomore campaign, 2006, when he hit .304 with nine home runs and 42 RBIs. Walker repeated as a MWC all-star during his junior season, 2007, batting .328 with 21 doubles, 12 home runs and 58 RBIs. Brian David Friday went 0 for 3 in the Indianapolis Indians's 14-6 loss to the Syracuse Cheifs on Thursday. Friday graduated from Bellaire Episcopal High School.

A 2004 graduate of Bellaire Episcopal, Friday accepted a baseball scholarship at Rice University. He played three seasons (2005 to 2007) for the Owls ending his college career with a .327 batting average, 55 doubles, 40 stolen bases and 98 RBIs. Friday was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the third round (98th overall) of the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. He quickly advanced through the Pirates' system making it to Triple-A Indianapolis of the International League early in the 2010 season, his second full year of professional baseball. Entering 2011, Friday was a career .272 minor league hitter with 73 doubles, 14 triples, 14 home runs, 189 runs scored and 123 RBIs in 345 games. He was born Dec. 16, 1985 in Houston. Read more...

Stacey Martin has been released from custody, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Mrs. Martin's bond was set at $30,000. She is listed as living at 8900 Chimney in Houston. Montgomery County District Court criminal felony indictments, June 4

The Montgomery County district clerk reported the following criminal felony indictments Monday, June 4:

Douglas Alan Wilson was indicted in the 359th District Court on a charge of assault by choking (family violence).

Wilson is 34 years old, and resides in the 7626 Evergreen Brookway, Houston.

The alleged offense reportedly occurred Wednesday, Sept. 9. Wilson was arrested that same day.

Ruben Franco Jr. is Wilson's attorney.
