Pro Baseball: Brian David Friday, Indianapolis Indians

Brian David Friday went 1 for 3 and was walked once in the Indianapolis Indians's 0-0 loss to the Syracuse Cheifs on Thursday. Friday graduated from Bellaire Episcopal High School.

A 2004 graduate of Bellaire Episcopal, Friday accepted a baseball scholarship at Rice University. He played three seasons (2005 to 2007) for the Owls ending his college career with a .327 batting average, 55 doubles, 40 stolen bases and 98 RBIs. Friday was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the third round (98th overall) of the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. He quickly advanced through the Pirates' system making it to Triple-A Indianapolis of the International League early in the 2010 season, his second full year of professional baseball. Entering 2011, Friday was a career .272 minor league hitter with 73 doubles, 14 triples, 14 home runs, 189 runs scored and 123 RBIs in 345 games. He was born Dec. 16, 1985 in Houston. Read more...

At 4:59 p.m., an EMS event occurred at Fondren Road and Cangelosi Road.

An EMS event was reported at 12:59 a.m. at Fondren Road and Portal Drive.

At 12:58 a.m., an EMS event occurred at Glenmont Drive and Renwick.

A call regarding an EMS event was received at 7:43 a.m. The Police Department was dispatched to South Braeswood Boulevard and Braes Bayou Drive.

At 3:03 p.m., an automatic alarm incident occurred at South Braeswood Boulevard and Kirby Drive.

At 10:49 a.m., a building fire occurred at West Loop South and N. S. Braeswood Entrance Ramp.

An EMS event was reported at 3:37 a.m. at West Loop South and San Felipe Exit Ramp.

An EMS event was reported at 10:33 p.m. at Fondren Road and Ludington Drive.

An EMS event was reported at 6:25 p.m. at Glenfield Court and Queensloch Drive.

Ruby Ann Hernandez has been released from custody, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Mrs. Hernandez's bond was set at $3,000. She is listed as living at 6200 W Bellfort in Houston. Hernandez was reportedly arrested on June 2, 2012 on one charge of failure to stop and give information. Read more...

Kikeah Sorrel Kareem was released from custody, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. A bond of $4,000 was set for Mrs. Kareem, who is listed as living at 6219 Claridge in Houston. Kareem was reportedly arrested on one charge of possession of marijuana. Read more...
