Pro Baseball: Brian David Friday, Indianapolis Indians

Brian David Friday went 1 for 4 with one RBI and scored a run in the Indianapolis Indians's 5-3 loss at the Charlotte Knights on Thursday. Friday graduated from Bellaire Episcopal High School.

A 2004 graduate of Bellaire Episcopal, Friday accepted a baseball scholarship at Rice University. He played three seasons (2005 to 2007) for the Owls ending his college career with a .327 batting average, 55 doubles, 40 stolen bases and 98 RBIs. Friday was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the third round (98th overall) of the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. He quickly advanced through the Pirates' system making it to Triple-A Indianapolis of the International League early in the 2010 season, his second full year of professional baseball. Entering 2011, Friday was a career .272 minor league hitter with 73 doubles, 14 triples, 14 home runs, 189 runs scored and 123 RBIs in 345 games. He was born Dec. 16, 1985 in Houston. Read more...

Montgomery County District Court criminal felony indictments, June 15

The Montgomery County district clerk reported the following criminal felony indictments Friday, June 15:

Amod Rashard Horace was indicted in the 284th District Court on a charge of possession with intent to deliver or manufacture a controlled substance.

Horace is 31 years old, and resides in the 17030 Imperial Valley Drive 80A, Houston.

The alleged offense reportedly occurred Wednesday, Feb. 3. Horace was arrested that same day.

Janice Baldwin is Horace's attorney.

Charli Anne Russell, of Houston, was charged with a class A misdemeanor (domestic assault causing bodily injury with violence). The incident took place on May 16. Russell, born July 11, 1985, is a 5-foot-8 female, weighting 150 pounds. The defense attorney is Rosario Stornello. The prosecuting attorney is Elizabeth L. Lieb. The case number is 12-CCR-162396.

Jeanette Rodriguez, of Houston, was charged with a class B misdemeanor ("possess marijuana 2oz"). The incident took place on May 13. Tarick Jerome Ozone, of Houston, was charged with a class A misdemeanor (weapon-related offenses). The incident took place on May 4. Ozone, born Feb. 3, 1988, is a 6-foot-5 male, weighting 300 pounds. The prosecuting attorney is Alison Gottlieb. The case number is 12-CCR-162389.
