published Jun. 12, 2012Brian David Friday went 1 for 2 and scored a run in the Indianapolis Indians's 16-0 loss to the Rochester Red Wings on Thursday. Friday graduated from Bellaire Episcopal High School.
A 2004 graduate of Bellaire Episcopal, Friday accepted a baseball scholarship at Rice University. He played three seasons (2005 to 2007) for the Owls ending his college career with a .327 batting average, 55 doubles, 40 stolen bases and 98 RBIs. Friday was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the third round (98th overall) of the 2007 Major League Baseball draft. He quickly advanced through the Pirates' system making it to Triple-A Indianapolis of the International League early in the 2010 season, his second full year of professional baseball. Entering 2011, Friday was a career .272 minor league hitter with 73 doubles, 14 triples, 14 home runs, 189 runs scored and 123 RBIs in 345 games. He was born Dec. 16, 1985 in Houston. Read more...

The Houston Police Department received 169 calls reporting collisions on June 12. These included the following nearby incidents:
A minor collision involving a person who failed to stop and a give information was reported at 5090 Beechnut St. H at 12:27 p.m. Houston police were dispatched at 12:39 p.m. and arrived at 12:46 p.m. It took until 2:23 p.m. to clear the collision. The incident number is 074678512.
At 8:12 p.m., a non-fatal major collision was reported at 232 Meyerland Plaza. Houston police arrived at 3:32 p.m. The collision was cleared by 4:48 p.m. The incident number is 074726412.

Putman is listed as living at 5500 N Braeswood in Houston. Bond for Mr. Putman was set at $50,000. Biyela was arrested on June 12 by the SHPD.
