College Softball: Kat Espinosa, Oklahoma State University
Kat Espinosa pitched seven innings, striking out six and allowing one earned run Thursday in Oklahoma State University's 2-1 victory over Iowa State. Espinosa is a 2009 graduate of High School.
Espinosa played at Bellaire for coach Brien Tuffly in 2005-2009, lettering four years. In 2008-2009 she was selected to the state of Texas All-Star team, All-Greater Houston First-Team and also the All-District First-Team. Espinosa was named All-Greater Houston Pitcher of the Year and District MVP, both in 2008-2009. She was named First-Team All-District three times. In 2008, she was named All-Greater Houston First-Team. Espinosa was also selected Best Newcomer of the Year in 2006. In addition to playing softball for Bellaire, she played summer ball for Texas Eclipse Gold for coach Ken Glass. She is the daughter of Armando and Denice Espinosa.
